The San Rafael Swell is north and east of Torrey just to the NE of Cathedral Valley. This ride was intended to be an out and back Sweeper Madness with a Fish Lake Twist but when I got to the end of Utah 72 I changed my mind. I was having far too much fun riding the CBR1000 on 72 to stop and take pictures! As it was I headed east on I70 across the San Rafael Swell, this has to be one of the most scenic stretches of freeway around, all the pictures here are to the south of the road but there are equally stunning views to the north across Castle Country. The whole loop on 24-72-70-24 was 223 miles and took just less than 4 hours including casual photo opps and two gas stops (ahem).
