On the way home from Pennsylvania I visited my friend Kathy (Paperbutt) in Chicago. She lives in a tower block just north of downtown, perfectly positioned to take advantage of what the city has to offer. I've been to the Chicago area several times before on business but had only spent one day seeing the highlights of the city itself. Kathy likes to get out and walk about so we explored the area around her luxurious flat, there are a lot of neighbourhood bars and restaurants and it's only a short walk to the lake. The zoo is about a mile away on the shore of the lake and was all lit up for the holidays. I don't have any desire to live in a big city but there would be worse places to live than Chicago if I did.
