The Wayne County Camel

Torrey is full of surprises, I never thought I would live next door to a camel!

Fletcher is a Bactrian camel - the kind with two humps! Bactria is an area in northern Afghanistan where there are only about 950 camels still living in the wild (there are no dromedary camels left in the wild).
He came from a camel ranch in Montana which breeds pure white camels, Fletcher obviously wasn't told as he came out camel coloured. He's very friendly, especially if you have carrots! He's about 8 feet tall to the top of his humps, his head is above mine when we chat:

Fletcher: "got any carrots?"
Bob: "yes"
Fletcher: "ooh, can I have them, please, please"

Bactrian doesn't seem to be a difficult language.

Fletcher the Camel.

He's shacked up in Reda's corral.
