23rd November 2007

Another lovely sunny day after some snow in the night. I decided to go explore on the western side of Boulder Mountain again, not taking the Dark Valley Trail this time but quickly geting to the other end of it and heading west a bit more. There's a lot of country out there! I had imagined that this area was a lot like the open hillsides to the south of Loa but in fact it has a lot of forests and canyons. However, there wasn't any snow so though it was very pleasant I didn't take a lot of pictures. After exploring a few of the fire roads off Highway 12 south of Escalante I headed home as the sun got low.

Cresting the summit I was suddenly treated to a wonderful view.

Boulder Mountain and Highway 12 had plenty of snow.
