Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef National Park was created to protect the Waterpocket Fold, a 100 mile long wrinkle in the earth's crust which extends from Thousand Lakes Mountain to the Colorado River at Glen Canyon Reservoir. In addition it encompasses an area to the north of the fold, in particular Cathedral Valley.

Looking south east over the Waterpocket Fold to the Henry Mountains. This is one of my favourite views taken from the goosenecks viewpoint, the picture doesn't do the view justice.
In December 2005 I drove down the scenic road through the main part of the park and took some snowy pictures
In March 2006 we had some more snow so I covered some more of the park.
March 2006 A hike in Grand Wash where I saw a Bighorn Sheep.
October 2006 Moonlight in the Park.
March 2007 Spring Drive in the Park.
