2005 Honda CRF450X
For a number of years I've wanted a real dirt bike as the KLR is a bit limiting in the dirt. I went to the dealer thinking about
another dualsport, probably an XR650L but they pointed me at this beast with a Baja kit to make it street legal.

I picked it up on Monday July 10th 2006, it's a new 2005 which got me a nice discount.
The afternoon was very stormy but
about 6:30 it looked a bit brighter so I took it for a quick 10 mile jaunt for pictures,
also exercised its crashing abilities just after I took the pictures.
It really is a beast, the power comes on quickly, 49hp from a 450 and it only weighs 250lbs dry.
I wanted the Baja kit so that I could
take short rides to the dirt without having to trailer it, it wouldn't be good for road riding, the dirt bike seat is hard and narrow just to start with.
It's also rather maintenance intensive needing servicing every 600 miles so road work would be a chore, but it's perfect for where I live
where all sorts of trails start within 10 miles of my house.
Next comes a 4 gallon IMS tank to extend the range a bit, not many gas stations in them there hills.
