Motorcycles

I've covered over 400,000 miles on my motorcycles in 14 countries on 3 continents. After 30 years of riding it's not actually that far per year but it's still a long way. 2003 was by far my longest distance year covering over twice the previous longest at 53,686 miles, most of it on my BMW.

At the moment I own five bikes, a 1990 Honda CBR1000, two Kawasaki KLR 650s, a 2002 BMW R1150RT and a 2005 honda CRF450X. Many people ask me why I have more than one bike and it's really quite easy to explain.
The BMW is a sport-touring bike with saddlebags and a windshield which is my first 100,000 mile bike.
The KLR650 is a dual purpose on/off road bike which is a great ride on the pavement and on dirt roads and trails. In 1998 I bought my second one after horribly neglecting the first and seizing the engine.
The CBR1000 is a sporty bike for local road rides and short distance touring.
The CRF450X is a real dirt bike for serious exploration of the mountains
There are several other bikes I would like to own...
